The AI Agent Inflection Point: From Assistance to Autonomy
1 min readDec 2, 2024
We’re at a big moment in AI development. AI is beginning to evolve from simply helping us to potentially working on its own in groups or “fleets.” This shift could mean that AI will take on more responsibilities, which may change how we trust, create, and manage these systems.
- ‘Humans in the Loop’ to ‘Humans on the Loop’: Instead of managing every AI action, we might soon be overseeing AI more broadly. For example, Honeywell is exploring AI to automate routine maintenance and operational tasks, freeing up employees to focus on innovation and strategic projects.
- Managing AI Teams: AI is becoming more like virtual teams that can handle different tasks on their own. Medigold Health is looking into using AI to cut down the time doctors spend on paperwork, which could make care more efficient.
- Building Trust and Policy: Trust in AI is expected to grow, and responsible practices will likely become the norm. Clifford Chance is considering using AI to handle routine tasks, which could ensure compliance while boosting productivity.
How comfortable are you with AI taking on more decision-making roles in our work processes?
