Tech journalist Luca Bertuzzi shared the leaked “final” version of the EU AI Act.

It’s 892 pages long, and even my AI has trouble understanding what is in it.

Key things to watch for:

➡️ Will there be any exceptions for large open-source models? My reading so far is no.
➡️ Will AI developers have to respect Copyright rules? It seems so.

Depending on how this plays out, this could make a lot of AI models subject to significant regulation, documentation, and transparency.

Here is my complete discussion on this with ChatGPT-4 if you want to go deeper.

I asked how “no AI rules” warriors like Marc Andreessen might react, and how Mistral and Llama models might be affected. TL;DR: A LOT

Here is the ACT draft Luca shared.

The EU AI Act is the AI regulation closest to being “passed” in the West, even if implementation is a year or two away. It could significantly shape the AI landscape.
