DeepSeek today dropped a ChatGPT 4o- level model open source from China.

So many questions.

With 6–8 similar model providers, will any and all margin be competed away?

If the models can eventually do (almost) all work — what then? How does the economy work?

Will the world want a Chinese Communist Party-approved model?

Why does China block US models?

Who determines what truth is?

Given humans might not understand or control AGI, is it ok to just open source it?

If all leading models all eventually provide Einstein-level IQ across all knowledge, what should my younger daughter study?
