Part of being informed about AI is understanding the key people driving it and their motivations. One key party is the “e/acc movement.”

🌌 Goals of Effective Accelerationism (e/acc)

Effective Accelerationism (e/acc). Championed by notable Silicon Valley influencers, including Marc Andreessen, it isn’t just about accelerating AI development — it’s about pushing the boundaries of what we consider possible and, perhaps, ethically permissible as quickly as possible.

🚀 Extreme Vision

e/acc advocates for propelling AI forward at an unprecedented pace, rejecting traditional views on safety and regulation. It’s not just about innovation; it’s about redefining the future of (human) consciousness and, in some cases, welcoming a post-human world.

🤔 Why Pay Attention?

If it was just a Silicon Valley group with extreme views, one might disregard e/acc. The thing is, e/acc cheerleaders like Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) are investors in both the frontier close AI model company OpenAI and the frontier open source AI company Mistral AI. a16z also just invested $75 Million into Quora, the company lead by of one of the three remaining Board members of OpenAI (yes, the Board that fired Sam Altman).
